New bus route lane between Harlow Town Centre and Burnt Mill roundabout

Meet the Contractor Event on June 11

Residents can get updates on the works taking place between Harlow Town Centre and Burnt Mill roundabout at Essex County Council’s Meet the Contractor event in the Harvey Centre on Wednesday 11 June.

The drop in event runs from 10.30am – 4pm at the ground floor Discover Harlow engagement hub with representatives from Colas and Bouygues on hand to explain how the project has progressed since their last Meet the Contractor session in December 2024.

Part of the £1.3 billion infrastructure investment identified for Harlow & Gilston Garden Town, the works feature a redesigned junction at Burnt Mill plus route upgrades for rapid bus services.

They also include walking and cycling links, new public realm, trees, signage and lighting.

Once completed, the route will connect to the new Sustainable Transport Hub and Interchange replacing Harlow’s current bus station as well as the seven Garden Town villages proposed for Gilston.
