Stewardship Consultation Now Live

With Harlow’s Our Lady of Fatima church receiving Grade II status from Historic England last week, we’re keeping community development and assets in the spotlight across the Garden Town area with our Draft Stewardship Charter consultation.

Starting today and running through to October 1, the Draft Stewardship Charter focusses on how new places are created, looked after and cared for long-term.

You can view the full Draft Stewardship Charter here.

Harlow and the surrounding area already has a wealth of assets that have been looked after for decades thanks to stewardship arrangements and community togetherness.

These include artworks such as the Donkey Sculpture (Pittman’s Field), Wild Boar (The Water Gardens) plus open spaces such as Harlow Town Park and Latton Priory.

The draft Stewardship Charter sets out six high level principles for stewardship which the Garden Town partnership feel that any proposed stewardship arrangement should achieve:

1. Collaborative Stewardship

2. Assets

3. Community Development

4. Representative and Accountable

5. Financially Sustainable

6. Ambitious Practice and Monitoring
