New Cycle/walking pathway in Harlow

First Look at New Public Travel Routes

Earlier this year saw the first spades in the ground for Harlow & Gilston Garden Town with work starting on the new public travel route between the Town Centre and Burnt Mill Roundabout.

Work contractors Bouygues and Colas were joined in the Discover Harlow recently by Essex County Council and Jacobs for a drop in event that allowed residents to find out more about the project.

Part of the £1.3 billion infrastructure investment identified for Harlow & Gilston Garden Town, the works feature a redesigned junction at Burnt Mill plus route upgrades for rapid bus services.

They also include walking and cycling links, new public realm, trees, signage and lighting.

Once completed, the route will connect to the new Sustainable Transport Hub and Interchange replacing Harlow’s current bus station as well as the seven Garden Town villages proposed for Gilston.
