HGGT Developer Forum – May 2025

Earlier this week saw Harlow Council host Harlow & Gilston Garden Town’s Developer Forum with town centre regeneration and electric vehicle infrastructure part of the main presentations.

Featuring guests from across the Garden Town’s five council partnership and construction industry stakeholders, Alison Jennings from Homes England started the event presentations with an overview on the housing and regeneration agency and their hierarchy of interventions such as acquisitions, grants and affordable housing programmes.

With the regeneration of the Harlow Town Centre central to the growth of Harlow & Gilston Garden Town, Pram Nyak gave an update on Hill Group’s regeneration partnership with Harlow Council, detailing the importance of placemaking and delivering a future go-to destination for current residents and those that will follow in the new neighbourhoods.

As part of the Safer, Greener, Healthier campaign, Essex County Council’s Katie Pudney and Angus Paterson highlighted the future vision for electric vehicle infrastructure locally, discussing both resident and hub charging provision across existing and new locations.

And with Harlow Council working towards an eScooter hire pilot for the town, the Developer Forum concluded with a discussion around micromobility and how the construction industry can help support active travel in the local area.

The new HGGT Developer Forum is planned for Tuesday 23 September at Harlow Council.
